Single Turbo C5?
9 to 10lbs of boost on a stock bottom end will not hurt it if tuning is done right. There is very room for error with nitrous. The avg H/C car dyno's low 400's. You will need to spray a 100 shot atleast to get good numbers. A good H/C will cost you 3k minimum. Not including the install labor and tuning. A good safe nitrous kit with all the safety features will cost you over a grand. So now you are up to 4000 plus. Not including all the bottle refills and possible race gas on occassion. You can get a supercharger setup for just over 5k and you can have it installed for less than 1k. Now you have just increase the value of your car. Tell someone you are selling a nitrous car and see how fast it sells.

Ok, I definitely see where both of you are coming from, but the point i like the most is that is does indeed increase the value of your car and another HUGE plus would be that i do not have to refill my bottle! So since i am aiming for 500+rwhp, I would use the A & A supercharger setup. I would believe that you mean the procharger package, but would i go with the p1sc or the d1sc? I know the d1sc is a more powerful package but would it hurt to go bigger and then one day upgrade to it? Also, is there any other modifications i could do to the car after its supercharged? For instance, headers, cams, bigger throttle body, any other mods that will help out? What about FM on the procharger.......thanks so much guys!

now whats the weak point of you LS guys bottom ends, i was under the impression it was prone to breaking ring lands, similar to boosted LT1's, and also was more prone to lifting the heads?
honestly, you can go any way you please...you said you wanted streetable, and longevity was also an issue. id say research the topic more and see how long some of these FI stockish LS1's are living.
just where im coming from, i have seen head/cam cars with boltons put down 430-450rwhp. stock ported castings, with a T-Rex cam. now also, there is another cam out on the market, called the juggernaut. i dont believe it is as streetable, but there are vids of stock headed LS1's, with boltons and that cam..on slicks, going mid/low 10's...which i think is very impressive for a cam only car.

hmmm I dont really know now.....I mean the big point with going on a H/C is the strain isnt put on the motor all the time. If i need some more HP i can tap the bottle....Kenny you have a blower (or at least last time i saw) and Vince you have a stout N/A so why are you guys pushing the opposite.......how do you like your setup?

I just talked to andy at A and A and he said for drivability and performance for price, the p1sc is def. the way to go. I am thinking the same thing, but he said the standard numbers are 480rwhp, a few more mods and i will be to my goal, either way i think its a good choice....

Here is a debate on P1 or D1.... http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...42&forum_id=86
Horsepower is addictive. You will want to upgrade. No need to go crazy, but you have options. A stock shortblock can take more than people think. I would not think of going forged unless you plan to go over 600rwhp. If you decide to get even close I would ONLY race on a race gas mix. Like 3 gallons in your tank with like 6 to 8 gallons of 93 octane. The right gas saves engines..

well hate to say it, but if NA isnt your thing, and you want boost. im all for turbo's. few twin kits out, might wanna look into those possibly. i would never do a centrifical blower again...ever. my power curve (read: LINE!) is about a 45* angle on my damn dyno sheet. 4k i make 273hp, 5k, i make 348....for me, if i could make 350 at 4k and 5k...id be much happier, and quicker.
i mean shit leon, you know what a turbo setup feels like. but blowers are a proven thing...for some tried and true is more of a comfort. i for one know i will never do a blower again...as a matter of fact mine is about to come off, and being replaced by either a T76 or MPT70.
and yes QDR, im in school, and yes i have a blower. i know how to run my mouth in other productive ways than just pissing people off
