Seems like very little compared to how everyone else exaggerates.

They say the 02 SS is fastest Camaro Chevy ever made. back in 70s they had 350CI with 350HP on the motor, ur sayings my LT only might have 285. That comparison seems weird unless back then they used Lead Driveshafts and all?!!
You lose about 15-16% in a manual transmission car from the crank to the tires. So if your car had 270hp, it would be more like 225-230rwhp.

heh. cool. I also got one more question. I thought EFI cars were created to replace Carburated cars for more mileage, fuel delivery efficientcy and minor performance gains. Like I was arguing before, now I am just asking to help me compare. Old 1979 Z's had 350CI 350Engine HP. They had Cast iron heads and all the get up. LT's have ALuminum angle plug heads, aluminum intakes, EFI and all these sensors to help monitor and increase engine efficientcy. What is it about LTs that make them not up to the old nestalgias?

they are cheap to buy, not bad to build, getting to spakr plugs sucks so much though its gross, I am not a fan of lt1 z's looks but I do really like the Vete;s and of course the TA's (the ws6 hood never gre on me)

quickrice: if you recommend hypertech again, I will have to start posting that I will kick ppl in the ball's for $$$. I highly recommend ls1tech or ls1.com (if it still is up) and their lt1 forum's. A lot more truthful knowledge can be found there then someone that does not own a LT1 or really know about them. It would be like asking me about a rotary, I have no clue about them. If I had gains like that on my car, I would be sitting well over 1k in hp right now lol. I like LT1's and do like the idea of built ones. Call Alan Futral if you ever want some real performance stuff for the car, I am sure Datruth or Gator has his number.

ls1=unstopable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was wondering about that because I remember the 77-79 had 200/220/190hp in the pontiacs but I wasn't sure about the chevys

as for this you gotta remember this is a GM tranny that actually transfers power
most dyno around 245-260rwhp
