Default 305 vs. 350 in s10

Hey guys I have been thinking about building a truck for awhile now and have run across something. What are the differences between the 305 and the 350? What are the differences in power and the pros and cons basically of putting a modded 305 into a 86 s-10 vs. a 350. Thanks, JEFF

Same cost to build a 350 and make a lot more power.

305s are not good horse power motors invest in a 4.3 or 350 something with a good sized piston

WHAT IF the 305 was bored .60 over and had some performance parts? Aren't the 305's internals the same as the 350?

305s are realyl small bore motors. They make decent torque, thats about it. You will spend a lot of money to make a fast 305 and for what you put in it, if you had a bult a 350, youd be making a lot more power. 305s use really small valves due to the small bore, so they dont get a lot of air in.
EXACTLY.

Biggest valve you can put in a 305 cylinder head casting is 1.94" They are limited on what they will flow even with porting due to the limits of valve size. They do however respond nicely to forced induction. So if you go with a 305 slap on a turbo.
