cars are temporary, you get a car-have fun-go fast-get tired-sell it. it is all a cycle. As long as you have fun with it and it gets you to where you have to go (while you have it).

Hell, he can buy an old golf desil for the economy for $1k (as a beater) then spend the rest building whatever he wants.

Shit, my first car was a 1994 Nissan Altima that used to be my mom's, it was in mint condition and just hit 80k miles back in 2001. It was free to me if I kept up my grades, $2,500 is I didnt. My 16 year old sister was given 6k to buy a used car with. Consider your lucky!

Yeah i ran it by him. He doesnt think its fast enough. He likes everything else about it though. But I think its the best option. Not too powerful and reliable so my parents would go for it, and he can get a lot of power out of it for a little bit of money. So I think both sides would be happy.

 

Get your brother a nice car with a busted motor, then have him rebuild it.

Agreed. He should drive a piece of shit in highschool and save the money towards something nice AFTER he gets out of college. No one has respect for nice cars, particularly in school parking lots.

Plus most 16 year olds don't have the skills to handling much more than a 5hp Briggs&Stratton...so don't put him behind the wheel of something he is going to kill himself with.
