Keep in mind though, that the car cant be too powerful cause hes only 16, it cant be too old cause hes gonna have to rely on it, and he will only be allowed to do mild tuning. We're looking at the $20,000 and under price bracket here. I say he goes with either a used WRX or a used RSX type S. Tell me what you guys think.
16 and has a limit of $20000 for a car I assume parental units are paying for this. Nice parents must be nice. Get a ecomony car defintely stay away from a Mustang or Camaro with a v8 they dont make very good "first cars". I agree with TurboJZA70 get a Metro they are cheap as well as cheap on gas plus they cant go fast so chances less likely for a bad accident.

mazdaspeed protoge*sp?* aweseome car..come's w\ rims\ and all that crap, so you dont gotta spend your money there ,, and it comes w\ a sub and system...handles great!....good beginer car IMO..turbo, so the potential is really good..100$ in mods..50 for MBC and 50 for TurboTimer..and he's having fun.....its not RWD..but FWD isnt so bad unless he's trying to dragrace like crazy and a serious about speed, but he doesnt have money to mod like crazy so dont worry about the drivetrain too much....id go Mazdaspeed all the way..fully decked our for 21k...haggle dealer and get it for 20k or less....i love this car..if i could id trade my RSX for it.

if you dont go w\ the mazdaspeed or consider it your stupied...lol..its one of the better imports for sale right now....WRX is awesome too but i garentee he'd wreck it, too much power, and the AWD turbo thing will make him think he's unstopable...POINT MADE GET THE MAZDASPEED*
