Went to Crown last night to look at the Evos...
Has anybody else been to a Mitsu dealer to look specifically at Evos? The salesmen in the showroom refused to open the doors and made us look at a poster to see the engine because they wouldn't pop the hood. Their reason was that 'somebody's gonna spend $35k (ASSRAPE) on this car and they don't want it scuffed'. They also said they're only getting 10 per year, and that they've already sold one. They said the owner of Crown is the only one that's driven the other 2 Evos they have onto the showroom...the other employees can't even drive them. How the hell do they determine who (out of people coming in, interested in the car) gets to test drive it? The salesman basically told me the car is 'too fast' (
) for me to drive, and that it does 0-60 in 4 and change. Is that true?
This is all really stupid to me. If I want to get my rocks off I'll just go up the damn street and sit in a Z06. If I want to test drive something, I'll go over to Mastro and get in a damn WRX!
So far - WRX > Evo8
Anyone else have a similar experience?

Yeah my husband and his friend went to go check out the Evo* in Orlando, and tryed to "test drive" it as well. They werent let very near the car at all.... Basically the sales guy told them, unless you have 34k in cash today you cant test drive this. LOL
I went to Crown. I sat it in, got a pic of me doing so, opened all the doors, sat in the back seat, opened the hood, opened the trunk. Took the dumbasses 15 minutes to find the key for it (the yellow one thats in the showroom). I'm supposed be on the waiting list for EVO #7 that they get in.
car dealers believe thier own hype ......everyone is gonna forget about the car just like the S2000 and 350Z (i testdrove both btw, and im thinking of making an attempt to drive the Evo) just to dupe those fags

I think the guy was bullshiting us last night about looking at the engine and interior. After all we did come in 25 mins after they close. I defiently like the evo, but if I am gonna test drive I would much rather drive the Z06.
If they didn't want us in there, I think they would have kicked us out. I don't think they would have been joking around with us like they were either.

lokey was wicked cool when me and joey went in there, we sat down in one, played around w/ all the gadgets inside of it, popped the hood, pryed around under there at everything, they were asking 32k, the guy tried to say somethin about how fast it is and we simply laughed and told him it'd take a true retard to fuck up drivin an AWD, anyway, im not sure if they leave the door to it open anymore, lol,but i did get to sit in one and didn't get harrassed for it, soo...try lokey

Well not really, they just don't want you rolling the car/getting fender benders because it would be expensive as fuck getting it repaired. The fact is, it's an expensive/nice/rare car and theyre going to treat it with respect and I think you all should respect that. Now as for not even letting you sit in it, that's retarded. You can't really unintentionally fuck the car up just by sitting in it.
