With a 12% loss for FWD Dyno.(Yes it can be done.) it makes to about 290hp at the crank. You looking for a Dyno chart, then ask AMS for it. As for them pulling BS... i dont have a reason not to believe them.

i donthave a reason not to trust Shiv.. his results are as said above.. always right on the money.. he has many many years of experience tuning cars.. his results mesh almost exactly with what other people ahve seen over seas..
it is a difference of his being an AWD dyno and the other being a FWD dynojet.. the issue i see is the EVO8 only putting 20 more HP than a stock WRX on the AWD dyno.. kind of dissapointing..
as for the haterade.. nah.. been an EVO fan for years.. since my first ride in a Lancer GSR in australia to my ride in a TME Evo VI around wakefield raceway with the Subaru club.. i just think mitsubishi screwed the pooch.. and the loyal EVO fans with what they brought over here.. hands down .. with an unbiased opinion (and i am not 100% subaru loyal unless its the STi V6.. which the EVO VI was faster than).. the new STi is a much better car than the EVO8.. had the evo came with all the goodies..it'd be close.. but the STi (even in 2.0l trim) only runs 17.5 psi to the Evo's 19.. and with the extra .5L SOA has deemed to add.. cmon.. even you die hard DSMers can see how much the car will rock...
i still dont beleive those numbers.. 258 just seems REALLY high to me.. but hey.. track times will tell right ? (so far i have onyl seen a 14.2@ 99 .. which would be what a car with 20 more AWHP would run over a stock WRX)..
not hatin..just not impressed

However the extra displacement and twice the turbo of the subie will easily out power the EVO. There is no replacement for displacement.
And 12% drivetrain loss for a FWD? That's a bit nice, but its probably closer to 15-17%.

I decided to stop by the Mistu dealer yesterday and take a look. The car does look very nice from the outside aside from the wing and clear tail lights IMO. The interior seemed a bit more roomy compared to my WRX and the nice seats really are the highlight of the interior. The rest of the interior is nothing special but totally functional. The Brembo brakes are really nice and I really liked that the bleeder valves are accessible w/o removing the wheels. I was a little disapointed with the fact that the rear seat does not fold down or even have any type of pass through in the center.
Sticker was around 31kish w/ a 3-4Kish dealer markup that they claimed was not neg in any way. To me this does not seem like a good value considering the STi will be sold for around or under the final asking price and will offer more power, 2.5L, DCCD. The EVO to me seems comparable to Stage 0-1 WRX with nicer wheels, tires, brakes and prb suspension. If the price was really under 30k it would be a pretty good value.
