the qualtiy is not all there with them. my roomates 2002 1.8 had all sorts of shit go wrong. ie broken window gears........

it was peppy, but not fast with the chip he had. (low 15's high 14s)

the chip is for sale pm me if interested.

The two typical problems with VW's have been window regulators and coil packs (on 2001+). Both of these issues are being addressed by dealers (sort of unoffical recalls).

Overall I think the quality is very good and I don't have any complaints about mine. I've had mine since July and haven't gone back to the dealer yet.

Shoulda bought a 5speed in the first place.....but the swap is gonna be a PITA.....just sell it and get something that has the potential to be pretty quick.

 

my friend had a VW golf and blew his tranny... i have heard that repairs for VWs are very expensive... so he traded the golf for a 2001 Civic

 

trade for a 5sp or just give the prelude to me

 

If you like Volkswagen and would like to have something different i'd say a Mk3 vr6 turbo.

 

ya i know....but the only reason im getting rid of it is because the tranny is getting fuc*ed up so i have no choice i wouldve kept it if that wasnt the case....but anyway i chose the veedub because im not really into the racing scene anymore but id still like a nice looking ride.....and its already turboed..so i definetely mod it alittle i just really want a pimp ride thats all....
