The Ford-specific T56 puts the shifter dead center in the hole in the Z32, and the GM T56 is off by ~2 inches, hitting the tunnel sheetmetal. The Ford T56 is also much stronger.
My point was that the Ford unit is not to be ignored just because you're using a GM engine.

I'm sorry did someone hurt your feelings? OP obviously asked a very specific question and we said that he should try forums on here that are specific to that make and model. I'm pretty sure if this whole website was about Nissan then it wouldn't have been a problem. But not everyone on here owns one or at least tried and stuffing a t56 in it.
