I consider myself broke when I have less money backed in my personal safe than I have in the bank. I like to keep a fairly even amount stashed away. After paying my own college tuition and the rest of my bills I still have stacks in the 5 figure sum range. And my car? Shit box is what I call it, but unreliable? Far from it. Fully rebuilt from the chassis up by me with over 10,000 miles on it and the only problem I had was blowing a fuse once using a 15 year old fuse. Maybe you know what it is like to have an allowance but my parents never gave handouts. If I wanted something as a kid I worked for it by mowing lawns and doing yard work for people.
