Midas???
I've been hearing the midas comercials on the radio about the full brake systems check up new pads and shoes and so on for 99.88. I just wanted to get some folks opinions or if anyone has taken their car in for this deal or know somone who has. I would like to do it but i'm also worried about either being ripped off as far as them getting in there and making up some bs thats gonna cost me a shit ton. Now i know thats not very trustworthy but i've already went down the road of untrustworthy mechanics. And yes i know it would probably be better to do it myself but i don't have to time or skills for this job. I also don't have a full time mechanic anymroe. So any advice anyone can lend me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Josh

have them show you your car , and make your own decisions from there..
If they say "oh you need new pads" ... say "let me see them please" ... if they are still in decent shape just say they look fine to you.

there in lies the problems i can do hardly nothing when it comes to brakes i know ur basic stuff when it comes down to it such as oil changes and replacing parts that are plug and go. I'm sure i could take it apart and learn but as far as it goes i wouldn't know how to tell

Brakes are basic man. lol.
Seriously its not hard. They go on one way and come off one way. Have a friend show you how to do it once and you'll have a skill you will use forever.
For 99.88 im sure you will only be getting the most basic service. Since you drive a GT you have four piston calipers up front. Im pretty sure that would cost you extra.

Man fuck that shit, my sister in-laws front caliper seized a few months back driving down the road and had the rotor glowing red. Had it towed to Justbrakes and they claim that 99.88 for pads and shoes brake and FREE system check blah blah. All they did was put the car on a lift and take the tires off and tell her yup its seized. I told her to have it towed home and I can do it for a fraction of the cost that they will charge. Then they told her they will not put the car down and release the car till the 99.88 was payed. I went down to talk to them and said you guys claim to do a brake system check for free. They said yes till they find a problem then you have to pay for service. I tell them sweet so what did you find, guy tells me well either the caliper seized, or the sliders, or the pads are bad or it could be the master cylinder. So I said you havent quiet figured it out yet. blah blah in the end she had to pay them, had it towed and I put 2 new calipers, rotors and pad on the front for half of what they quoted her.
Needless to say brakes are easy enough to do yourself especially since most cars now have disk brakes. You can do front and rears for less then them.

brakes are easy dude, with any amount of common sense you could figure it out. you may have never done them before but you could honestly take your wheel off and figure it out. if you can do basic stuff this should be no problem because brake are pretty basic lol
that and i'd never take my car for any work as minor as brakes or oil or anything. stuff like that is always cheapier in the long run if you do it yourself.
