What are the differences between shaved 4/32nds and heat cycled? What do those mean?

What are you talking about a swap? I'll just slap on my valve cover and they won't know the difference. As it stands right now the plan is to buy some rims and slap on some azenis within a month or two at the most. Then I will definately buy a good set of tires for autoxing alone. I'm still debating if I just want to slap on Hoosiers or Kumhos on my 13 inch rims or if I really want to buy a cheap set of 15 inch rims.
well, if youre going to get serious, you want to pickup a set of 13x8s and put 235 kumhos on them.

yes, but like i said, since youre just starting....you want something that is going to last longer, and not flatspot as easily. You dont want to get to your first race, lock them up, and just kill 300+ bucks of rubber right there. Get the kumhos for now. The tenth of a second difference isnt important enough to spend the cash right now.

Shaving = they actually "shave" rubber off the tire. This gives less tread squirm, and actually, due to how the tires wear, doesnt really kill the tires much faster.

Heat cycling = you heat brand new tires up to X degrees allowing the rubber compound to stretch itself and then, as it cools, the bonds form better than they do during the casting process of the tire. Basically gives your more life.
Aren't Hoosiers better?
