World's fastest production car is now....
Yeah, but if you can afford that car you're not going to roll through town in a Honda/DSM/etc rebuilding it every weekend. Theres also the prestige, your ferrari owning friends are going to laugh at your hunk of shit econobox, even if it has twice as much power as their brand new 458. The econobox would still be slower anyway, I wouldnt be surprised if it pulled a Mercedes and backflipped right the hell off the road at 200mph. Theres also luxury and comfort, you can hold a conversation inside the Veyron at speed, I could barely think when my stock civic was going 70 because the road noise was so bad.
is there really a comparison between a civic and a veyron right now? lol what a joke

hahahaha I was thinking the same. I would take a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Koenigsegg... over a Bugatti any day.
From what I can find the car has to meet all DOT safety/emissions laws, run on pump gas, and has to be manufactured and sold to customers. There don't seem to be any volume limits. They are very strict about tuner cars, cars built from existing chassis like the 9ff or anything Brabus/Ruf makes don't count as production. So the Viper would count, but the Hennessey Viper doesn't.
Kinda complicated.
Kinda complicated.
id kill every single one of you in this thread for that car

BAMF beat you to it.
The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport
With a stated goal of 264 mph, Henri Raphanel managed to shatter the car's current top speed of 253 mph with two runs averaging 268 mph. It also left the 256 MPH SSC Ultimate Aero TT sucking its expensive German tailpipes. Unfortunately, the car will be electronically limited to just 258 mph so the owners don't destroy the tires.
