World's fastest production car is now....
The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

Just 30 of the ultra-rare, ultra-quick and ultra-pricey Bugatti Veyron Super Sports will be built as a final send off to one of the most coveted and extreme modern cars built. To mark the occasion Bugatti sent its test driver to Germany's Ehra-Lessen proving grounds along with some folks from the Guinness Book of Records to measure the top speed.
With a stated goal of 264 mph, Henri Raphanel managed to shatter the car's current top speed of 253 mph with two runs averaging 268 mph. It also left the 256 MPH SSC Ultimate Aero TT sucking its expensive German tailpipes. Unfortunately, the car will be electronically limited to just 258 mph so the owners don't destroy the tires.
All this speed comes courtesy of the additional 199 hp achieved through four larger turbos, some engine tuning, bigger intercoolers, and German troll dust. The chassis has also been tweaked with new shock absorbers and more travel to allow the car to stay planted to the road at high speeds while pulling 1.4 g's.

I think its odd they added larger turbos, I'm pretty sure the aftermarket software for the original veyron gets it up to 1200hp, maybe its just for longevity, I have no idea how much boost these things run.
I'd kill all of you for that car.
Just throwing it out there.

Dumbest fucking car ever made but hey look who makes it, VW = FAIL. 16 cylinders and 4 turbos and like 8 radiators? Ive seen a fucking 2L with 1 radiator and 1 turbo with 1000+ HP. And really limit it to 258 vs 264? 6MPH is going to kill tires? Who the fuck can drive that fast all the time and where the fuck do you even get tires to withstand those speeds anyways?
Up to 220 MPH: WR & YR rated tires or steel-belted drag radials .
Up to 250 MPH: NASCAR spec. Speedway tires.
Up to 300 MPH: Special tires designed by the manufacturer, i.e. Bonneville tires or Land Speed tires.

Theres a lot of stupid in this post.
What kind of warranty do you get on a 1000hp 2 liter? Oh yeah, none. If your veyron breaks, they'll fly it back to germany and fix it for you, then fly it back. What kind of power band to you get on a 2-liter with 1000hp? an exponential curve with no useful power below 6000rshared_pm. The veyron is calm and reliable when you need it to be, you can actually drive it around town without lifting the heads or bending rods or cracking sleeves. The DSG won't fragment every 5th time you launch the car.
A lot of cars have 1000hp, but not very many of them have it for very long. Most drag cars are rebuilt after every run, or at the very least refreshed. You don't have to rebuild a veyron every time you take it on the interstate.
The tires on the veyron are custom made for it, theyre the only tires you can put on the car. They will survive running at 264, but they survive probably twice as long at 258. Remember, 264 isn't the top speed, its the average speed over 2 runs, you could probably hit 270 with a tail wind, and thats not the kind of speeds you want to be going when a tire explodes. The tires on the regular veyron only last for 10 minutes at 254mph, this car is faster, so it makes sense to limit it.

You'd probably kill me for a Geo you bastard.
you could replace and rebuild a 1000HP 2L atleast 100 times before your at the cost of that car.
