Umm, yeah. Stock for stock, the only thing the SRT BARELY beats the S2000 in is straight line performance. Plus, at the end of the day, I would rather be sitting in the nice, well thought out and well made interior of an S2000, then in the pathetic interior of an SRT4. Handling in an S2000 > SRT4. Dropping the top whenever you want, in less than 4 seconds is also a really nice plus.

What's nice, is people RESPECT the S2000. I have had many Porsche owners (including my cousin) swoon over my S2000. I got compliments daily, and it was a purpose built sports car/roadster, not just a low class economy car with a body kit, and a turbo.

s2k poor choice for dd/drag imo. sucks at launching, weak diff housings, longish gears and little torque = not great for drag. No back seat, rwd with short wheel base and no traction control = not great for dd. The SRT4 is the better car for your wants

That being said, the S2k is the far better all around car.

I dont even got how this is a debate. The S2000 is so much more of a car and they arent even close to being in the same class! Compare a shittle to a sunfire, metro, tracker, storm, prizm, or something else gay then I would say get the shittle its the least gay out of the choices and most fun. My uncle always said dodge is 10lbs of shit in a 5lb bucket, IMO the SRT4 is atleast 15lbs of shit in a 5lb bucket. You will never see me owning one even if its dirt fucking cheap. Some people are boost whores and think something is so much better because its boosted... the SRT4 in this case is still slow and many N/A vehicles will whoop you. Someone PLEAsE explain to me why almost every SRT4 owner thinks they drive a fucking Ferrari and think of their car so highly that its top og on the road. The fuck?

You see, I also like the S2000 for the community. S2ki ALWAYS has something going on, and they always have planned events. Be it dinner, the St Pete Gran Prix (which, you get free tickets to if you sign up in time for all three days, all three days of parking passes, they decal up your car in exchange for it, they rent an RV for the S2ki members, with food, and drinks, and if you're lucky enough to sign up in time, you get to do the parade lap, and have the mayor, danica patrick, or other well known gran prix drivers in your car with you). Nobody that goes to the S2ki meets act like fucking idiots, they don't go hauling ass around, and they actually talk about their cars, and know what they are doing. It's a great community, and if you ever have a question, they will answer it without being fucking e-thugs. Now that has SLIGHTLY changed, now that other people can afford the S2000, and immature kids that don't understand that this car wasn't designed for drifting/drag racing are trying to get into them. Get whatever car YOU want, but most of us have stated our opinions, and it's up to YOU to ultimately make the decision.

What I don't understand, however, is the random influx of new members posting a "I have $X,XXX-$XX,XXX to spend, what should I get?!" Go fucking drive both, and pick which one YOU like best. All I will say, PROPER insurance on an S2000 for anyone under 25 is usually as much as the car payment itself. But this is TR, and I don't even think half of the people on this site have insurance, let alone full coverage.

^ I saw a yellow one at USF with some RPF01s, sat nicely on springs i assume...

had the ST PETE GP banner, but like nismo said i guess its for free passes and shit lol, i'd do it if i had an s2k

Yeah, it's pretty nice. First year I had the S2000, i didn't know about it, and paid to go, then I ran into all the S2ki people, and they told me about it. Second year, they decalled up the S2000, I got two tickets for Friday, two tickets for Saturday, and a parking pass for both days, with shuttle service to the front entrance. I didn't take advantage of the RV, with the 60 inch flatscreen mounted to the side with a sitting area, awning, fans, food and drinks though.

But letting them put the vinyls on the car for a few weeks tops is worth it, it's tons of free advertising, and middle school kids at the bus stops in my neighborhood thought I was a racecar driver. I didn't mind, and the day after the event was over, I took all of them off carefully, and stuck them to the walls of my garage.
