It's not what I would consider fast at all but it's a hell of a lot more fun to drive than all the other fwd grocery-getters people seem to love. Whether you like it or not, definition > opinion.
An excellent example. Power does not equal sports car. Sports cars arent about straight line speed, thats the territory of muscle cars.

The Mazda Miata is one of the best sports cars, however its terribly slow in a straight line. Why do you think when they made the Mazdaspeed turbo Miata they only bumped the HP from 140 to 175? They tested more power, but it lost the sports balance and felt more like a muscle car according to the engineers.

True.

But when I switched my insurance from my 4 door civic to my Z3, my insurance went done.

Performance numbers don't mean anything when it comes to vehicle classification... There are 10 second fwd mini vans out there, they are not sports cars.

Sports Car
2 doors
1 or 2 seats
rwd
any size engine
manual transmission

Thats all there is to it.

Awesome, My 88' Silverado 2500 is a sports car?

I wouldn't take anything I say on here serious at all.

You should read my other post where I say 99.9% of the time Im just fucking with people on TR.

I think its hilarious.

Definitions of sports car on the Web:

a small low car with a high-powered engine; usually seats two persons
wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn

A sports car is a term used to describe a class of automobile, typically of two seats and two doors, with precise handling, brisk acceleration, sharp braking, and attractive aesthetics. ...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sports_car

An automobile designed for high speed and power, tight handling, and flashy looks
en.wiktionary.org/wiki/sports_car

it says nothing of a rwd or fwd or awd... just 2 doors typically 2 seats and good engineering...

thats because of the relative high rates of theft and typical young owners of Honda Civics, complete opposite stats for a BMW Z3 owner hence lower insurance cost for you

Also eveyone seems to be also neglecting sports car appearance, you know one when you see one.
An ITR looks like any othe Integra till you get right up on it but nobody is going to confuse a 240Z, FD, NSX, Miata, or an MG for a grocery getter.
They're styled to stick out in a crowd.

The word of the day is "Car" ... not truck.

The number of the day is "3" ... something your truck is capable to carry in terms of humans. You have three seat belts at the least in your truck.. which again is not a car

They are not designed to soley stick out in a crowd.. function before form.. Those smooth lines help the cars performance while its "sporting" around town .. they might look nicer than the average car.. but then again we are able to achieve such small attractive packages because they aren't going to be used for anything other than driving with spirit.. no need for extra room.
