I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

very true, but did you watch it? Nico was slowing down in the last two turns just to keep his real lap times down.... I know that Ferrari and MM will be faster in the race though yes.

with the new engine reuse rules, practise times aren't really going to mean anything. quali is going to be much better indicator.
i wouldn't count hamilton out. after all, he out drove alonso several times when they were team mates. But as money and popularity increased, he changed a bit.
btw, over on m3forum.net we have a free f1 game(which i won last year
). all you have to do is register and pm your top 8 picks for the race. i won $70 at speedgear.com and a formula 1 dvd.

Results from the Saturday practice:
After only 5 laps, Kimi was registered as stopped on the track, but I haven't found any news on that yet. If anyone does, post it up, theres only a couple of hours till qualifying.

Looks like the practice sessions don't lie that much after all Hamilton barely makes it out of Q1 and both he and teammate Heikki fail to make Q3

Very excited to see a Brawn GP 1-2 for the season opener, also excited that Barichello laid down one of the fastest laps on the track since Schumi back in '04 
Hamilton was knocked out in Q2 after a reported gearbox failure, so he may be starting from the back if they're forced to replace the entire assembly.
