The 2009 FIA Formula One World Championship Thread
Monaco is def a fun course to watch. The passes that were done were fabulous and the crashes were not as spectacular as I had expected.
Controling the slides the way they did was great to watch (talk about time loss) and espc how they basically had to dive for the wall out of the one turn and then control it to keep going past it.
Did they ever give penalty for four wheels off? They warned the teams but anything else?

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

*surprise
I guess I'm just used to both drivers getting great cars like at Ferrari....go back and look who was #1 and #2 driver last year and tell me that the #2 driver is "supposed" to get a worse car....
-Massa's pass in Tabac was amazing bordering on nuts... and I was surprised at the pass in the hairpin.
-Well, of course Monaco and Ferrari was no surprise. It was understandable that they would make improvements to the car and they still have the best combination of #1#2 drivers in the field. Of course the Brawn cars are still no match for the rest of the field but I will say that at Monaco, the fact that both brawns ran well and stayed out of the wall is commendable.
-I was really hoping that Kaz would finish better (or finish at all for that matter). I keep wondering when Williams will start to become a race team instead of a practice/Qualifying team??
-And finally another close but no cigar run for Force India. I hope they keep making strides and it will be interesting to see what they do once they have KERS. I don't think that KERS makes a huge difference amongst the fast cars, but back further in the field I do think it could give them a big enough advantage to start scoring points...

Outstanding race and another great finish for my boys at Brawn. I was surprised to see someone passing in the hairpin as well, especially after the incident there last year in the wet. I also took notice of Lewis Hamiltons terrible race, such bad luck for him to have been stuck in the back for nearly the entire race distance. Its great to see the Ferraris might finally be bouncing back from their 5 race failfest as well.

All this season has shown me so far is the first 4-5 races Button has been faster than Rubins. Although the "team orders" took the win away from Rubins in Spain with the strategy change.
The Brawn cars have been in another league.
Keep an eye on Ferrari, they are increasing race pace and Massa "owns" Turkey (Istanbul). They're too far back for CC/WDC though, just looking for wins now and the 2010 car, assuming FIA gets their act together.

I watch the BBC coverage of the races and one of the BBC reporters interviewed Max Mosley on camera and he said that they will not do a 40 mill cap for 2010, but for 2011 there will be a 45 million euro cap in which all of the teams agreed on. This is all according to Mosley though.
