I was suprised to hear them comparing button to schumacher during the race and was hoping to see a better performance out of webber. It's disappointing to see Barrichello playing second fiddle due to team orders/strategy as well.

So what's everyone's thoughts on Peter Windsor? As far as I can tell he's not some mega-billionaire yet him and another guy are entering the US-based team next year. I like his reporting, good to watch and often has funny comments but is he just hoping that the $60 mil budget goes through, combined with sponsorships, to make it work, 'cause I don't see him leaving on a 200 foot yacht after the race like Flavio.

We were watching the NHRA qualifying in Topeka this weekend and they were talking to a lot of the teams that don't so well. They had them share the passion that keeps them going. It was great to hear those without the sponsers like the Force's (who struggled at the start as well) because in tough economic times it is those who have the dream and are willing to do what they can to live that dream matters the most. It's what racing is about. Or at least to me it is

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

so on a side note, I was looking into going to italy to see the monza race in september. after looking at the date I picked to fly there I actually changed my mind. I was looking to leave on the wednesday before the weekend of the race. it came out to 9-9-9. ie upside 666. being so close to 9-11 I actually changed my mind. I'm never superstitious, but that really freaked me out.
