agreed.. it shouldn't be a suprise that he built a good car. as I also think the others spent time building and testing their kers. where rb didn't. untill next year when they allow more kers time per lap. this off season work won't pay off.


but yes, RB knocked it out of the park this season. the other 3 just cheated with the defuser shit. the rest are all about the same.



even being a kimi fan, I was a little let down.. its one thing to have a slow car. its another to have massa faster than you in the rain. that's just sad. and after the race he said it was the spray from the cars in front that made him think the engine was running badly. so when his lap times were still slow durning the clear laps is just blah.


and that zo's team decided to pit him just as the safety car pulled off was just plain bad luck.

 

Cheated? How are they cheating? The issue of clarity in that set of the sporting regulations was brought up before the close of the season last year, and three teams working independently interpreted the rules in the same manner. On top of that, the FIA says its good to go.

 

don't believe the bullshit. they straight up built a car knowing it was everything the whole "over taking group" put the rules in place to stop.


it just makes for a great show to have the big teams turned upside down and have to come back thru the field as the season wears on. so there's no way they could strip the defuser cars. the backlash would be a loss of new fans and new sponsers. had the teams asked in the protest to just have them block off the defusers. they may have won. but they asked for all 3 of the teams to be stripped of everything. wins, points and everything for the first 3 races. and the fia just plain can't do that when they are struggling to fill the grid as it is.

so the big money teams get screwed this year, next year will be more normal and less of a gimmick

 

Like I said, the issue was brought before all the teams last year when development was still on-going, the other teams had plenty of time to develop their own diffusers, and they didn't. Now they have to. Everyone knows that racing regulation interpretation is 1% what you can do and 99% what they don't say you can't do.

 

i have read that and i disagree. i have also read that other teams had the same idea durning the summer, asked and got told it would not be legal. so they did not build them.

do i care either way? no.. i call them cheating because thats not why we had the best season i've ever watched in F1 last year, and then a whole new rule book throw at the teams for one thing, and one thing only. more passing.. to put on a better show. the idea was to have a ton of front down force and less in the rear. make the cars more fun to watch slide around and easier to pass the slower car in front of you. because you don't loose all front end grip when you get under them. now with this diffuser, it will be back to the same as last year, and over all the cars are already turning faster lap times than a year ago. so the whole rule change is now for not. because they allowed 3 teams to build these things.


on top of that.. if they were so clever, they would have just come up with a design like the redbull cars that don't have the DD and are just as fast, or faster as we may well see within the next few races.


either way, none of this will matter by the end of the season. when brawn is nothing more than a mid pack car and a footnote to the F1 history buffs.

 

 

How about Alain Prost calling out Bourdais?? also, has anyone heard the latest statements from Flavio...? I think he is colorful and I like having him around, but lately he is just getting annoying.

 

To Briatore's credit, he's been pushing for a long time to make the racing more about racing and less about bs, but yeah, he is annoying to listen to, I prefer Raikkonen press conferences.
