The 2009 FIA Formula One World Championship Thread
i was fed up of watching hamilton by the first part of last season. at first i thought it was alonso but slowly i started to see its just mclaren.
here's a post from the speed boards... i couldn't say it better myself. so i won't haha.
Lewis has proven he deserves to drive in F1.
However he has not apologized for what he did, which was to lie to snatch Trulli's trophy.
He has apologized for following orders, which is more of an excuse than an apology. That shows weakness and lack of courage. If you win as a team and you lose and a team, then you cheat as a team too.
I would have a much better impression of him if he just apologized for lying and move on rather than following the processional sacrifice ritual of Ryan to cleanse his image.
If Hamilton wants team players in the team, he should set the example first.

On BBC News Radio 1 they were saying that Hamilton may be put on suspension for the rest of the season. Then the damn satellite moved and I couldn't hear the rest.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

Its shocking I know to see a Honda driver with a cowl hood actually interested in motorsports that don't take place on the local bridges

The Golden Boy is falling out of favor with F1? Hard to believe since so many were calling him the next Schumacher his rookie year.

Ham/McLaren lied, screw em.
Hamilton is a hot shoe, no doubt, but Vettel will be right there with him when the car catches up to his ability.
They'll end up teammates and battle nonstop. Vettel vs. Hamilton will be the new school version of Senna vs. Prost.

Good to see Button out qualifying his less fuel laden opponents in Q3. Also, BMW has lodged another protest against the teams running controversial diffusers, most likely to ensure that the Malaysian race is taken into account at the hearing being held on the 14th of this month.

*SPOILER WARNING* or maybe not
Got up and watched the race this morning.
Hamilton claims that he was told to hide certain things from the stewarts which in turn made him lie. I am guessing by him driving today that they decided he was telling the truth about having to mislead them.
I noticed when it rained Hamilton did not have as good of a handle on the car as he did before.
I agree that Kimi's team choice of full wets before the rain was even appearant was a failure.
It was fun to watch the teams switch from soft to full to intermediate. It was anybody's guess as some turns were under water, the pit was dry and other parts had a slight amount of rain on them.
After all that swtiching in the end the race had to be called early due to the large amount of rain and unknown amount to come.
Good wheel to wheel action. I enjoyed the race. Looks like Button is the man to watch this year.
Congrats to BMW as well.
I was listening to the chatter about the F1 having to much rule in the race and thought about how many complain about the SCCA in the same way, especially the power of the stewarts.

Maybe out of favor with F1 but also he and his Dad had chatter about leaving the team due to difficulties.
