leave the car alone, pick up some daily driving amenities (tint/system/Ipod/tune-up) and save the rest. maybe pick up a prerunner truck to go baja in.

lulz

94 Acura Integra LS 4dr

I'd leave it stock, but this is what i would do since im bored

F2 coils ~630
F7 LCA's ~200
ASR subframe brace w/ sway ~380
Skunk2 Camber F/R camber kit ~340
Beaks lower tie bar ~100
= 1650.

And then I would get these:

still have a lil money left over but i'd keep it in case anything goes wrong or use it for misc bs.

but why not manual?

End of story.

Make a list, or don't. Please don't try to change my mind, as all I need is a 'to school/work and from school/work' vehicle... not a 299/mo payment plan.

Also, according to Craigslist, in my area( Lost Wages, Las Vegas) there are virtually NO vehicles that fit my bill between 4500-6000.
I never said anything about payments, i never had a payment on a single car i have just paid cash outright. I hate payments and the only one i have is on my house. school/work means you need reliable! thats why i said something newer. so what do you want to hear a list of parts that will only hurt the reliability of the car in the long run? why would you spend 1/2 the cars value on suspension? are you going to be auto cross racing? performance mods are a waste because its still not going to be fast with that amount of money. if anything rebuilt it to stock and drive it. look on craigs list in your area i guarantee you will find something in that price range.

*i paid $2,300 for my 99 f-250 and i put $75 into it and its in great shape,
*paid $4,500 for my 05 636 bike that i have never had an issue with,
* 12,000 for my altima (this is a little over your budget) but it had 30k miles and 75k warrantee. my altima 2.5S today is going about $6-7K private sellers and is a great car.
*i have $5,500 into my neon which has almost every aftermarket part i can get for it (performance) and now i cant even get a offer on it wish i had that $$ back

all of my cars today are in your price range and none are 14 years old. dont think im trying to start anything trust me i know, i worked full time and went to school full time i learned the hard way on my 1st car that blowing $$ o n useless aftermarket parts is a waste

That's not the one I was looking at, but it's pretty damn close, and looks to be in better shape. Perhaps, I shall call.

The woman can't drive a stick, and one of my stipulations is that it MUST be something BOTH of us can drive.

And I am fully aware that 'modding a fwd sedan' is your(generally speaking...) idea of useless. But I would like something I can enjoy and stick with for a while. Something I got out of my Maxima. It was a fun car, I enjoyed it. And who enjoys driving stock vehicles for long before wanting to play around with something, whether it be adding a stereo or putting new rubber on the wheels.

The idea is to build something reliable to daily in. Not to repair what breaks and/or falls off.

Think forward.

I was blessed enough to not really have to worry about the current economy so the $3500 in the bank line doesn't really apply. I mean, sure... who DOESN'T want money in the bank, but currently, I am not in a financial crush like some others might be in.

I'm sorry that you get no enjoyment out of your Neon. I value enjoying my trips/commutes enough to put that above a resale value or worrying about the age of a vehicle.

I would just as soon drive a 1977 Pickup with some restoration/effort put into it, then a 2007 pickup. Plus, my insurance company rewards my efforts with a lower premium.

if all is good with it id consider driving it till i found things i wanted to change about it,maybe reupholster the seats if they are starting to show some wear.ive got a 93 del sol.have put new paint, new wheels, and reupholstered the stock seats in the 5 years ive been driving it.it looks presentable and has been reliable.like you i prefer no payments.
