what i have done to it now is i put some new headers and down pipe at about 2 inch in diamiter and i was goint to try to test the turbo on the actual exaust system and see how that works

Stock for stock, the 1g GT turbo is faster than the 2g GT v6.
It also happens to be in my favorite group of cars: Turbo mazda/ford 4cyl.
