DSM VS HONDA thread!!!
lol... i havent run it at the track, but i would say it runs a low 13/high 12, but then you will just say that without vid's or slips, im just guessing. then i would say that i make 220whp/205wtq @ 7psi in a 2200lb car, but then you would say that without a dyno sheet, you dont believe me.
so that is why i say 17's @ 75mph.
edit: and before you try and say that even 13s/12s isnt fast, a. i never said i was fast, i just said i wasnt slow and b. i am only running on my waste gate spring and can always turn up the boost. my current setup is good for a reliable 350whp. i can pm you info on my complete setup if you want, but then you might just think im making it all up.

i don't want your whole setup, it doesn't matter. i would however like to see it run at the track.
what motor is in there?
its a rebuilt 96 b18b with arp headstuds. i would love to take it to the track, but the 160k miles on the front suspension bushings makes it a handful on the street and i havent had any time or money to work on it since my daughter was born.
the people who bitch about dsm's are people that dont know how to build or work on them.... but stock for stock ill take my galant vr4 all day long....
hey you can also just put a 4g63t in a civic and run 11's..

+1.....
Like said earlier, any car can be made fast, clean etc, and every car has its pros and cons, some just have more pros or more cons than others, but we all should be able to appreciate a well built car regardless of its manufacture. Theres no reason to sit and pick at another cars flaws and try to compare it to make one car sound better.
Truth is in the numbers... Id like to see a times lists ( similar to what I linked for dsm) showing statistics on what the average to fastest hondas run, and how much power the fastest/ strongest Hondas have. If you really want to compare something then you are just compareing how far each car can take what parts etc. And thats were I was emphasising on why Dsm had an advantage over Honda at the track. But Honda probably has its own advantages in other areas. Like reliability for one... Its simple.
P/S At the end of the day, when it comes to making a top tier 1/4mile, or extremely high powered car, none of us have anything on those older muscle cars that run 7s and 6s like just another day.
The rotary guys also have been faster than either Honda/Dsm, for whatever its worth.

this still isnt over?
there are only a handfull of drivers/ car owners that understand both sides of it, and are open minded,
im tired of hearing the dsm guys rag on hondas, and the honda guys rag on dsm's
i think its pointless to compare cars that have been tuned and droped lots of money into.
lets start talking about stock for stock, from the factory..
what does a stock 91 GSX run? for the honda guys that dont know im sure thats awd, 2.0, twin cam, turbo charged. making what 200+ hp? stock
then take a 91 civic SI-R, whats that a 1.8 twin cam, fwd...? makeing 170 hp? stock
the dsm of course weighs more, but has more hp and trq, so which is better?
and idk about you, but finding a REAL (not swapped) stock civic SI-R is alot harder then finding a stock 91 GSX
just wanted to put that out there.
again i think its stupid to start comparing two different cars that have money in the motor
