$1000 fine if 50 mph+ law takes effect tomorrow
There is a difference when driving 80 in a 30zone with little kids playing in front of their homes vs driving 120 in a 70zone on I75 (when the exit are like 6 miles apart). Don't forget that on I75 most of the slow cars at night are cruising at 80mph.
In anycase... drive fast at the track.

I guess you should all start drinking and driving, I heard the fine is less.
NOTE: The above is a joke, I'm not an advocate for drinking and driving regardless the circumstances.

going 50 over is not reasonable and this is a perfectly fine amount for something like that. as for the guy who talked about fines being less for .08 without accident to .2 with, so we are just waiting for the .08 person to get into an accident? you drive above the legal limit you should know the consequences and deal with it when it happens. As a person who has been affected by a drunk driver (girlfriends grandmother died when drunk driver hit her car) when the drunk driver was .09, i feel it doesn't matter .08 or .2

i got caught doing 107 on bayside bridge, speed limit is 55 there...the speeding ticket was over 300 bucks, i thought i was going to jail considering i was also racing 2 other corvettes...even though i sometimes go 50 over on the bridges, i dont see the $1000 fine as out of control. If i get caught doing 140+ over the bridges i figure im going to jail anyways
