So I drove a cobalt ss today
Damn, im honestly quite impressed. It was not stock though, it had an intake and catback with the gm upgraded supercharger pully, it was running about 15 psi. I was pretty impressed with the way it drove for the price. It was an 06, used with 19k miles and an extended warrenty for 16k. It was nothing insane, there are plenty of cars faster but for the money and it being a chevy, I was very impressed.
One of my friends has one w/ the GM stage II or whatever it is (bigger injectors, smaller pulley and a tune) and it pulls pretty good. The only thing I don't like about them is the wing and how big the doors are. I think they're great cars and they pull pretty good from a 40 mph roll.
i never liked how the stock ones hit fuel cut at a measly 6500 rpms. Its not a gentle cut either, its the kind that feels like youre slamming on the brakes. 16k doesnt sound like a bad deal. Id ont think i myself would go for it, but it still sounds like a good deal...

shift?
I priced out the new '08 SS on Chevy's website and the MSRP is 23,745 with only the sunroof added but the car does come with a lot of nice options that don't have the be added unlike other car companies, but it also is the highest model.
ECOTEC Turbo 2.0L DOHC 260HP @ 5300RPM, 260lb-ft @ 2000RPM
Sounds like a peppy little car. Some bolt-ons, FMIC, 3 inch exhaust and some other little things and the car could actually make some decent power probably.

yeah, like I said it was nothing amazing.. This was that stage 2 kit. I didnt realize it had injectors too though, he doesnt know alot about cars yet.. Overall it was a blast and I would for sure drive it. nothing crazy, not a race car but alot of fun to mess around with on the roads. rwd would make it own.
The turbo verson does sound like some fun as well, turbo with a 100k warrenty, hell yeah. I wonder if they will offer any stage 1,2 3 upgrades with it still under warrenty

If there was a Honda/Nissan that had the exact same specs/equip as the Cobalt SS and for the same $, half the people on this board would lust after it.
