It's heavy for the power of the motor that originally came with the car, hence the power to weight ratio was poor for a sports car. It should have come with a factory V8. Look at the V6 mustang for example, bad power to weight ratio. V8 mustang on the other hand has a good power to weight ratio.

I said 2700-2800 because it depends on the source, options, dry/full of fluids etc.
