I want to see numbers on passenger vehicle fatalities and injuries directly caused by motorcycles. I've never heard of a big problem with motorcycles crashing into cars and hurting the passengers in the car- usually the people (who most likely pulled out in front of the motorcycle in the first place) are fine and the motorcyclist is the one splattered across three lanes.

man if there gonna start suspending pplz licence for 10yrs for popping wheelies or speeding.... then i think they should take nick hogans license away indefinatly.... i think they should apply rules to ppl on motorcycles but not dat harsh....

But...... i do believe ya motorcyclist do need to chill somtimes.... i saw a someone on there bike today getting on the on-ramp from dale marby to 275 and he was doin like 60-70 with knee almost touching the floor while theres tracffic behind him.... he could have feel and been hurt or worse (but the way he did it was koo though).

I dont think it will pass....

Just my 2cents

But lets go after a few bikers riding wheelies, who if they wreck end up killing only themselves 99.99999% of the time.

Yeah, we have a real epidemic on our hands.
heh yep. I suppose the idiots in the gov't appeal to these types of laws are just looking for a high profile bill to try to pass to get their names out. I mean honestly, a good nbc stint on this crap will get a lot of people to want this to pass. just like they did with street racing, finnaly the supreme court found it unconstitutional, hopefully they dont even let this crap pass.

This could be done so much differently.

First, force motorcycle owners to have the proper endorsements before they are allowed to purchase a bike. Kind of like how you can't buy a car at a dealer without a license. It can be enforced at the dealer and the tag office. I'm not sure why they don't do this already.

Secondly, make it hard to get those endorsements. It should be difficult (then again, getting your DL should be more difficult too, but anyways) - when you have to work to earn something, makes you think before you jeopardize it.

Third, enforce existing laws by any means needed. Cars can't keep up with bikes, so get a task force with bikes if thats what you think it needs.

I've witnessed some of those bikers stunts in Miami, and they are crazy down there. It is completely unsafe what they do IN TRAFFIC. I couldn't really care less if you turn yourself into a greasy spot on a lonely stretch of highway, but if you guys have witnessed what I have, you'd agree something needs to be done.

All this would do is make the choice for bikers to run that much more easy.

The fact that most of us haven't apparently seen what you've seen indicates that there is no epidemic of wheelie-riding bikers going on.

I've seen a few, even on Dale Mabry, but not so many that I thought something needed to be done.
