I'm saving up to drop 3,500 on my rebuilt engine or saving up double that to put a 2jz in it.......
That is pretty much what my car is worth but I don't care because it is the car I want to keep around for a while. I don't plan on jumping from car to car like most of you Honda owners that are 18 and have had about 20 cars.
It doesn't matter if the rebuild is going to cost more than the car. If she LIKES the car then keep it around for a while. It's her choice to do with it what she wants.
What I am doing is probably not the logical thing to do but that is what a car enthusiast of a certain type of car does.

Yeah i have so much money in my mustang that it's stupid. But i don't ever plan on selling it so it's value doesn't really matter to me. All that matters is i can enjoy the car.

98DOHC. I will def. let you know what they say. I know yesterday on the phone they told me they could get me a used GST engine and tranny and labor for around $1800. I dont know if that sounds too cheap, or what? I will let you know though.
Oh and thanks Skam. I do want to keep my car around for a while. I wont be getting a brand new car until I finish school. So why switch around a bunch of different cars? Pointless, I think.
Oh and Noodle, I highly doubt YOUR car is worth anything either. =]

My boyfriend is the same way. He has a 1996 s10 Dropped, etc. $14k into his truck. He never plans on selling it though. He bought it brand new in 96', and he loves it.

did u tell them that u had a eclipse RS?? b/c they have to change the mounts and everything so if u didnt tell them it will be more than that, but Brothers is a good shop, alot of mitsu guys go there for there work. u wont have any problems with teh work they do.

I dont remember, if I told them that or not. lol. I mean someone else on here said it would be a bitch to swap it to turbo though. So Ill prolly just go with stock.

u can buy my 93 dodge stealth 5spd for $800 need an ecu,intake, maf,fpr and downpipe and catalytic convertor the other $700 u have could easily pay for this car to be running awesome...
oh and the only reason it isn't running is I was gonna twin turbo swap it, started selling parts from it but decided to fix my dodge shadow turbo convertible instead.

And Ashely, I have an RS too... trust me, there's no point in turbo'ing it or anything. Just replace the motor and be happy with it. It'll never be fast. Just something we have to come to terms with....
