Well then you're in a different class than I assumed and I won't try to reason with you.

Look, the car is a 96. The kbb on it is anywhere from 2.8k to 4k, roughly. Its an Eclipse, they are not long lasting cars. It doesn't have many more years left in it anyways. It would be a really bad investment to drop a brand new engine in a 3,000 dollar vehicle.

Then don't reason. lol. No need to be rude or anything. I really like my car. I appreciate the help, but Ill listen to whom I want, and do what I please.

If I could I would surely go ahead and buy a new car, but seeing as Im only 18, just started college, I only have 1 job. My license was suspended, so my insurance would be sky high, it is better for me to do this. It is just the second to best thing in my opinion.

Plus, I could eventually turn it into a really nice car. There are plenty of sweet ass Eclipses out there.

I really don't recommend going through all that hassle of a rebuilt etc.

Get a lower mileage used motor. I'm telling you. Other shit on the car is going to break in time and you don't need to be paying almost what the car is worth just to have it running again. Hell, a bunch of people on here who don't even work at these shops can lift that bitch out with a hoist and slap a newer one in on the same day. It's not that difficult. I'm just trying to help you save your money.

A lot of people are saying that. I just like the rebuilt sound better.

*sigh*

So would any sane person, but that isn't the point. We're not being assholes here, we're trying to help you.

It is a bad decision to spend 2500 on a rebuilt motor for a 1996 Eclipse which is lucky to be worth 4 grand. That car is going to break. A lot. And its going to be a lot more than the motor breaking. You're going to end up with a fresh, good motor in a car that is falling apart around you. And yes, it will fall apart around you because Mitsu Eclipses are not well-made cars. Its just a fact of life.

you go out, find a used motor for several hundred, get all the work done for under a grand, and by the time that motor takes a shit on you the rest of the car is toast anyways and you're ready for a new vehicle. We've been there, and we've done that - we're giving you the best advice you can ask for.

What do you mean all the rest of the car? The rest of my car is fine. I mean I need shocks, but I have Coil overs to put on anyways. Thats about the only thing I can think of. I am going to get a paint job, and new carpet and seats, but everything else seems fine to me. Plus, Im a girl. I know how to take care of a car, new or used. Along with the fact that Im not going to rag the car. Eventually (Not anytime soon.) I will need a new Tranny. I dont ride my clutch or anything. I think mine in particular is a pretty well taken care of car.

I would seriously call around first. And 24k miles isnt crap these days, I do that in one year. And I mean seriously, call around. I know one time greenleaf offered a lifetime warranty on a neon motor we wanted, and thats probably about what you have in your car.

Honestly, it would be more cost effective to buy a used motor for 500-1k depening on warranty and mileage, then spend another $500 to have it installed.

I hate the word "ricer". You know there is plenty of people on here who own "ricers", Eclipses, Hondas, Nissans, Etc. Dont be an asshole. Yes, I can shift. All girls should know how. Plus, don't you think I learned my lesson from my first ticket, NOT to treat my car like shit.

Im just asking for help. Grow up a little bit, and be a bit more nicer.
