I'm having troubles tryin to find a reputable shop as well. You try going to one shop and then people say NOOOOOO don't go there go here. I guess you have to take a chance at getting screwed over.

XAT and brothers are both AWESOME SHOPS!

 

I tried XAT and they recommended me to Central Automotives. I am going to try there and Brothers, though.

 

Anywho, I called Central Automotive, which is what XAT Racing Recommended to me. They told me that can do an entire rebuild, pistons, rods, etc. plus labor for around $2336. No used engine or anything, complete rebuild on my engine. Plus a 2 year Warranty on the engine, or 24,000 Miles, which ever comes first. I think that sounds really good. Has anyone heard about them? I talked to Sean, and Casey from XAT told me that they are great. Im thinking they might be the one? =]

 

If you want to keep the car:

Get a used engine. You can buy one for under a grand. Guarenteed.

Go to an auto-shop. You don't have to use a goddamned speedshop like these people have been recommending. Just go somewhere and have them hoist the old motor out and install the nwe one.

Run it until it breaks again.



Really, this thread has turned into 7 pages...it isn't that complicated. Stop fuckign around with all these speed shops. You don't have a racecar and have no need for them.

 

I dont want a used engine. I dont want to run it till it breaks. (I mean I know it will eventually.) Still, Id rather have a good shop rebuild my engine.

Besides, what if I did want to make it fast? I wouldnt want to do it to a used engine.

 

Your car is worth maybe $1,000 more than that. Why waste your time and money?
