it ignites because the chemical compound of gasoline and oxygen have a low boiling point(aka, temperature it takes for a substance to become ignited/enflamed), and the heat range of the certain sparkplug is what is needed to reach that boiling point.

You're missing the Oxygen and Carbon Monoxide that would be there in a real world situation.
I've been running Champion plugs because A) They were recommended to me by a VERY experience shop owner, and B) The electrode doesn't completely cover the center of the plug, allowing the arc to be more exposed to the mixture.

Ahh, the good ol equation of gasoline combustion - that brings back chilling haunting nightmares of class. He wanted a physical explination of what happens to the gas on a subatomic level, I believe. Something like:

I'm going to pull this out of my ass.
The spark itself is, like lightning, hotter than the surface of the sun. Because the air/fuel mixture has a far lower flash point than that of the temperature spontaneously reached, the mixture around the electrode starts to burn. The rest burns because it is exposed to the aforementioned burning phenomenon

Even though VIP has got a little smart ass to em, he's got my vote for the guy that has the best shot at this so far-You have potential danyoson.
IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE: I just drank that whole bottle of scotch, hence im a litlle fucked up. The winner will now recieve a lifetime supply of those little marshmallow easter bird thingies. Hope this dosent complicate things to much.
