the workers at discount auto parts stores they
depend on in store computers..maybe they just
need their data info updated..
cause they are dealing with hundres of cars everyday
and hundreds of parts on each cars everyday....

Not every person that works at those stores depends on the computer. The one that Scott is talking about, I went in one day to get stuff for an oil change, and I asked one of the employees what oil filter I needed. He asked what year civic and then told me which one I needed without even checking the filter.

funny that you should say that i went there to get a belt for my car, and the idiot there gave me the wrong one. he was too busy bull shiting with his friend to do his job.

i told them they were going to go down hill after i left! but yeah, theres some stupid ones, but every once in a while you'll find a competent employee like i was that actually knows what they're doing. when you find one, just keep going back to them! i had so many loyal customers that would only deal w/me and actually would go to a different store to deal w/me if i changed stores. now if i need something from advanced i'll either look it up online from home or i'll just look it up in the store w/thier computer or watch them look it up since i know thier computer system.

.... I nearly pooped my pants when I read this.... Your tranny fluid was low so you tried to fill it with brake fluid? I agree with the Discount associate on this one. I'm pretty sure no brake fluid of any kind goes into a manual transmission. What you probably mean is you wanted brake fluid for your CLUTCH system. So in this case +1 for Advance/Discount Auto Parts associates for helping you to not destroy your tranny....

hey i go to the store on tampa raod and forest lakes right down from my house !! had the same thing as markzeronine happen to me ..
first the try to sell me drum brakes for the frount of my car and when i tell the guy i have dics he says no you don't then when i tell well there wrong and order me the right ones he get me ones fo a rx8!!! it even said it on the box!
three trys later and getting them to beleave i have disc in the back i get my brakes after that i always get them to show me what ther sell ing me on there screen before i buy !!
