Thats my kind of engine, I beat the shit outta my cars, so a car that has to be abused a little to run better is a +

The rew is much of the same engine the T2 was with a better turbo setup. The T2 is probably a better engine because the water jackets supposedly held up more than the rew.

From all the hype I thought they'd fixed all of the usual rotary problems. I guess the only thing they fixed was the port location that caused too many pollutants to escape the exhaust port to sell them under modern emissions regs. The RX-7s had the same issues- you had to know just how to treat them for them to run right.

I highly doubt all of the middle-aged women I see driving those cars are revving them out to 9000 rpm on a regular basis. I know I would- A. the cars are smooth as silk all the way up and B. the cars have no power below 5000 rpm.

Oh, and for my usual crazy rant when the subject of the RX-8 comes up, those cars need a naturally aspirated Renesis 3-rotor making 300/300. Except it can't weigh 750 pounds like the old 3-rotor.

I think it looks good, and the when the rolex series ran in mexico a month or two back the rx-8 was making a killing in its class and came in 1st by a big margin over the vettes and other cars.. I havnt watched it since then though, so I dont know how its fairing at other tracks.

I love how they look, and as far as how long the engine lasts, I have a magazine in my bathroom that has a 24 hour test and the car averaged like 120 somehing MPH and they had no problem with it... ill find the article and add it in here.

I am actually seriously considering dynoing my CX-7, because it just doesn't feel like it has the power they say it does. I ran it at the track, and it was like 16.7 or something. I know it was not driver error, because I am a pretty good driver.
