First off ^^^ ROFL!

A lot of good points have been said. I love car meets such as TRack day Yonke's meet Driven Concepts BBQ even Sonic sometimes.

I have never been out to Gandy or CCC for these "Rice Festivals", but after reading all this I don't think I will. It sounds like all the things that I like about the meets I go to, added with idiots and a lot of illegal crap.

Is there anyway to turn this thread into something positive?!

Just tossing this out to all the people that say, "Take it to the track".
1. Its at least an hour or more away from a lot of people.
2. Costs money to just get in and "hang out".
3. Its difficult to line up with the people you want.

1. Yes, but unlike street racing, once you get there, you can stay for hours, EVERY TIME. You don't spend most of your night traveling from spot to spot just to get in a few races.

2. The gas you spend (I used to go through a half a tank a night in my Integra way back when) costs money too. So do the tickets and arrests, as well as any associated fee's such as costs for bail bondsmen, lawyers, tow trucks, impound fees, and the like.

3. I've never had a problem But you don't have to wait for a break in traffic to race either

I refuse to go out to the meets that always involve street racing.. I however would really like to go to a meet up in clearwater during the day that involves BBQ and other activities other then street racing. racing should be left to the TR track days ( which are always on days I work ) If you want something positive to come out of this post, lets plan a TR BBQ !

I agree 100% I go out there to just hang with some people. Sometimes roll out together. But I am not out there to make fun of people anymore. Im not there to do Triple Digits. All I wanted to do was have a good time. Now I cant do that with so many dangers around at CCC and Gandy im better off watching a movie or somthing else

The way I see things, the fundamental problem with places such as CCC and Gandy is that there is no system of control what so ever in place, they are basically come one come all free for alls. Theres no way to keep idiots out because it is public property. The result of this is that you have a whole mob of want to be racers and just plain idiots causing problems...

The solution is simple, alienate anyone that you don't want around you. Go and hang out with your friends somewhere else. My group of friends hangs out at select locations and at each others homes, we have parties, work on each others cars, or just hang out and shoot the shit. The only time we ever go to Causeway or Gandy is at days and times of our choosing as a meeting place, then drive for a cruise.

If you want to meet like-minded people, then go to organized events and take to people that share your interests. While I've met a few friends while having a beer at QSL, most of my friends have come from organized events or through other friends.

For all you guys that go out to the bridges to drink and watch the racing on weekends... Fast cars do not head out to race at those events. To people that are serious about their cars, its not worth it.

Keep an eye out on your respective tech section of TR and the regional sections of your own forums. Attend organized meets, behave like a mature person, and treat everyone with respect, it will be worth it.
