Why so many V6 mustangs??????
its funny because i can go on a domestic site like need2speed, and all the domestic guys say its a sin to put a v6 in a stang, and how its a POS truck motor in them. then i come on a mixed auto forum like TR and the domestic guys are defending them.

This is the internet. You're just supposed to talk up whatever you do know as if you're a salesman for it. i.e. I drive a Supra and a Corolla therefore 2JZ is the greatest and so is the 4A and I don't care about anything else because it's all crap since I don't have it. I also have a stack of $20 bills in front of me, therefore 20>50 and 20>100 and 20>1000. $20 bill FTW.

Ford, GM, American Muscle tech...12s or 13s. The cars are quick enough stock, and then people actually mod them.
Honda Tech, 16s without a doubt. buncha VTAK Civics running arounjd with fart cans and wings still dog slow offset the few shining stars.
Mitsu Tech, can't put a 1/4 time on cars that break down before they reach the 1/4 marker.

Toyota Tech, umm..did Toyota make anything even remotely fast besides the Supra? I'd say 15s or 16s.
Nissan Tech, well they're resigned that they can't win at straight line racing, so they've all resorted to 'drifting'. They get an N/A.

V6 Mustangs should not exist. They are a waste of a car that could have had a V8 in it.

Not everyone wants a fast car; however, they want a car that looks fast. You got to think of the population as a whole. Not everyone needs a crazy fast mustang, but then again they might something with a little more oomph than a 4 cylinder. The 4.0 motors really arent that bad, they are tough v6's
People that aren't car-savvy have the misconception that V6 = fast. For many cars, such as Accords, Jettas, 6s, Malibus, and various other non-sporty cars, the V6 is their "high-performance" trim, and this makes people think that a V6 is going to be faster than any 4 cylinder out there, not to mention the "Mustang" icon that makes people wanna call it a sports car.
If they didn't build V6 stangs, the GT's and Cobras would cost so much more.
The 6 bangers offset the cost to build the HiPo versions. So its a good thing they exsist...as much as I wish they didn't have to.
Funny thing is...the folks that get the V6 Mustangs think noone will notice its not the GT, they think that they look the same. The irony is, those people that wouldn't notice the difference, don't even care, and those that do care...know the difference. 6 cylinder owners aren't fooling anyone.
With that said, everyone can rag on the 6 banger 'Stang all they want (present company included) but, if Honda or Nissan made a rear drive 6 cylinder 210HP, 240 ft lbs of torque car for under $20 G's that could do low 15's in the 1/4....there'd be nothing but hype about it. And you know that's true.
