Yeah but ya gotta be careful with that too. I drove my Lexus up to NC and ended up getting next to a cop at gas station and it started going off. He walked over and told me to unplug it and put it in the trunk. I explained to him that it was a built in unit that was a dealer option so I didn't know how to do that. He wrote me a warning and I had to give him my 'word' that I wouldn't turn it back on! LOL

 

I dont use one. Its a false sence of security, goes off at annoying times.. We have one in the work van due to alot of interstate driving but its more annoying then help

 

I don't think they should be illegal in any state. If cops can hide in behind bushes and tree's and shit I have the right to know they are trying to bust me going 53 in a 45.
