Even at 35k that still puts it outta range of the majority nissan enthusiast. I mean hell, they will pay $20 for a used power steering line vs paying $60 for a new one.

Actually an inline 6...undersquare Supra inline 6 that is pretty easy to get to 450tq...

...and I didnt really mean "good gas mileage" by "practical", but with a standalone and will power I'm certain it will do so.

By practical I mean all those little things that add up..10 minute spark plug changes, ease of cam location/placement, room, smoothness, ease of working on, lightweight when compared to a V, non-interference, etc. etc.

Miata would have trouble with 200 or more HP and would require bracing and serious drivetrain upgrades

Granted I'm using a DOHC Inline turbo engine instead of a pushrod V roots, but thats where efficientcy and practicality come in.

You have fun with that, you wont be seeing 450 ft lbs of torque till higher up on the rpm range, where as a nice domestic v8 will be making that at 2500-3000 rpms

I dunno, my stroke is longer than a few V8s, plus I'm building things like intake manifold runner design and so much more into it.

Yes, I realize it probably wont be availible as soon as a V8, though I may one day fix that with a roots blower added if I truely had a "disposable income"

have all the stroke you want You are still missing the extra 2 cylinders and 1-3 extra liters of displacment the average v8 has over a 2jz, 4 if you compare it to ls7, 5.2 if you have a new v10 viper.

I mean thats kinda crazy, a Viper motor has more displacement over a supra motor than what my mustang motor has total.

Yeah, Corvettes get almost 30mph highway. Fail.

Many of the new V8s shut off half their cylinders at cruise speed to make sure the remain good on gas while your foot remains off the throttle. As for 4-cyls...you're right, fast 4-cyls are pushed so goddamn hard that they're not able to get "good" fuel economy...but I'm sure its not horrible either.
