that's the thing i don't have a friend that has a 5spd around me andi know people who have one but they are like really stingy about helping me when i want to learn, cuz it'll be like i want to leanr and they be like okay i'll teach u, but they never will, so im stuck now

 

Its easy. Those who really don't want to learn are the ones you see bouncing all over the place and stalling. Its common sense... push the clutch in when starting the vehicle and make sure its in neutral. Then you'll need to push the clutch in when going into gears. The ones who really want to learn pick it up like if it was nothing. This is how I learned:
One day I was working on my car... automatic but was planning on buying a car around the corner which was manual. My dad comes out and tells me here take her for a spin (92 Eclipse GS, manual transmission). I said, okay are you sure, he said yeah get in and learn since your getting the other car in a few days. So I started the car up, put it in reverse, backed out and went to go into first and stall out since I didn't engage the clutch all the way. Started the car back up and drove it around and went through all the gears. Took me about 5-10 minutes to get it down and I learned by myself. No one in the car and no one to guide me.

 

WOW! what a way to learn, that's cool, it's like i now waht to do, but i dont have a car to practice in and i need a car to try out and learn first so i don't fuck up the car im trying to get at the end of the month

 

dude you really dont need a car to practice on.. my first 5 spd car was a 02 mustang gt, left the lot and didnt stall once.. at times first gear can be tricky in that car so i bounced around some (mainly when starting up from a slow roll) but you shouldnt have that problem in the gst.

 

i say just teach your self...its not hard and if u pick stuff as u say youll be doin it by the time you get home...the first time i ever touched a manual car i drove it home from clearwater to tampa no problem...so its not hard

 

If you're getting the gst and don't feel comfortable driving it on the main roads, get someone to ride with you down there so they can drive the car back and then just practice on back roads till you get the hang of it.

 

My dad threw me the keys of one of our delivery trucks and said, hey run this across town. So I learned fast.

 

I learned in an 87 Chevy Sprint. 1.0L 3 cylinder motor. No torque. That was fun

 

Your name a proracer and you can't drive a manual? JFWY. Do you know anyone with a manual car that would let you practice?
