IMO I don't think people are going to buy this car for it's "performance" seems like it'll only be an interest to collectors.

The Mustang has a smaller engine than the vette? OK- not smaller than my 3.8L Buick V6 and both my Z06 and Buick are quicker. The Buick also has a back seat, full interior, cold a/c, tunes, 18 mpg and runs 10's @ 125+ mph weighing 3350#'s. Not bad for an 87 Regal with the aero of a cinder block I'll be at BMP tomorrow night on pump gas, and 18 psi boost with a 16.5 degree conservative street chip.
why do you keep comparing a stock new car to your modded older cars?

You do pay a weight penalty with the new Mustang but you are getting a much improved chassis over the old Fox-4. The thing that said alot to me in the C&D review is the the new GT500 may not of put the best times down but the key is that it was "fun to drive", if something is fun to drive, runs a 116mph trap(proper ET's will come once they start making there way onto tracks across the country) and looks that good, how can you gripe about weight? Not to mention you know the new 5.4 DOHC will take to mods......"quite well".

I read the Mustang article in that Motor Trend, and it seems like a decent ride, but grossly overweight. But the article that caught my attention most in this month's magazine was the one that showed that GM is the largest private buyer of Viagra. $17 million spent last year. Lol...

It's a mullet ricers dream, nothing more. The mustang has always been the looker of pony/muscle cars, with the least amount of pull ot price ratio. Chevy's have always performed better for less. The next camaro will destroy the mustang in all categories.

The LS SB III/IV generation of engines have proven to be more potent without the aids of forced induction... Not to mention much more fuel efficient.

This thread makes as much sense as me starting a thread bashing the lambo and saying the new Z-06 is better bang for the buck. So, who is heading to the dealership today to buy that brand new C-6????
