Oh, for the record, Cryptic, I'd like to see you in the court room laughing also, because then you coudl be held in contempt and taken away by the guards when you pissed the judge off and incarcirated. That would be hilarious!
i wouldnt be that stupid. And you still havnt proven me wrong. Someone else even agreed that they CAN arrest you for reckless driving. look it up if you dont believe me.

As for him trying to get out of trouble what kinda judge is going to let him off. They will ask him if he was speeding. Him saying he was going 80 in a 55 will be a dead give away. If anything They may fine him more.

They most certianly can arrest you for reckless driving...however 20 mph over in a 50 MPH speed zone is not reckless driving unless conditions are horrible...and even then, the cop would probably write you a ticket for driving in a manner which conditions don't permit before a reckless. The ticket has a fine amount on it for 20 MPH over even, it just wouldn't happen, and if it did happen, it would NEVER stick.

And if he walks into the courtroom bragging about how he was going 80, yup, the judge will screw him. If the lawyer tels him to announce his speed to the judge, then the lawyer needs to be shot. More likely, it'll be something like, "Well, I dunno exactly how fast I was going as I wasn't paying constant attention to the speedometer, I might've been speeding by a litte bit, but all I remember is this cop flying up behind me and flipping his lights on then saying he was pacing me doing 90. I'm sure I wasn't doing 90 or anywhere near 90." And they'd take it from there, depending on what I mentioned.

If he gave me a break, I don't think I would fight him in court.
I don't want to teach him that his giving someone a break,
was not appreciated. There might be a next time..........

His "accuracy" may not be an issue if we break it down to a yes or no as to whether you broke the law. My 2cents-Bob

If it were me in the same situation, I wouldnt fight a ticket that I got cut a break on. But it's not me. Take it for what it's worth I guess.

Reckless is written as "any person who drives any vehicle in willful or wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property is guilty of reckless driving"

driving in a manner with unsafe conditions more applies to a wet road, or fog, very poor lit, etc. Before a reckless ticket would mre likely have been a aggressive careless or just a careless. .02 cents

I talked to the Ticket Clinic and they said for $90 they can guarantee no points. After that I might be assed a fine, court fees, or driving school but I think it's worth the $90 for no points. I don't know if some of you are understanding my reason for fighting the ticket. I would fight it because (1) I wasn't doing 90 mph (2) I don't think the method of getting my speed was accurate (3) I think the cop and I both know that he guesstimated I was doing 90 (in which case I wasn't).

I think you are stupid to fight it. You dont seem to have a strong case at all. you admitted to speeding but are upset you got caught. Also I wouldnt even pay the ticket clinic. just pay your ticket and take the drivers class and you will get 0 points. Why pay them $90 when you can do it on your own. You are in the wrong you know this. Quit being a whiny bitch and pay the consequences and move on with your life. And quit doing 25mph over the speedlimit dumbass.

For $90 the ticket clinic can guarentee no points.....buy may include driving school....

For free you can send the ticket in, elect to go to driving school, and not see any points. If you have not gone in the last 18 months, just go to driving school for 4 hours, and be done with it.

As far as your speed goes, you were doing 80 in a 50/55 and he wrote down 90 in a 65. As far as im concerned he cut you some slack, considering that the higher the speed limit, the less of a % over the speed limit each MPH becomes. 20 over in a 25mph zone is much worse than 20 over in a 65 you know....

As far as fighting it, you will get screwed if you mention anything ot the judge that you did to us. Even if hte cop did guess your speed, you have no proof. The law may suck and not truely be innocent until PROVEN guilty, but no amount of bitching and crying is going to make the judge feel better for you. The method used to get your speed will hold up in a court room, the cop said you were doing 90, i believe him. If you have aftermarket wheels or tires, your speedo can be off. They say most stock speedometers are off 8-10% anyways i believe? That would make your 80 anywhere from 72 to 88. The cops speedo has to be calibrated, and is certified. And for your third reason, you tell the judge "the cop and I both know that he guesstimated I was doing 90" they will laugh, and give you the maximum penalty/fines.

pay the fine, go to traffic school, insurance will never know, you will have a clean record, and 18 months not to fuck up before you can fuck up and go to traffic school again, and remember not to speed 20 over the limit, and if you do, you should probably use the things that are attached to the side of your car, and your front windshield, called mirrors.

No offense, but we have speed limits for a reason. People are generally bad drivers, and while im sure some people can handle breaking the speed limit without putting anyone in danger, you probably are not one of them if you dont use mirrors or pay attention to your surroundings.

Good luck!
