Some cars (like the older vipers) can be "slower" in my book. It looks sooooo mean. I wouldn't care if I got waxed in it. I would buy a '98 before an '05 in a hearbeat.

I don't know if I would go as far as Kirk to make a viper my next car, but it's definately in the dream garage of weekend cars. Nice... very nice. Maybe we should hook up for a friendly run sometime.

Why is there an argument about Z06's in Gerald's pic thread? This thread is so off topic, haha.

Anyway, might as well add some info to this argument- new Z06 dynos at 440-460 stock. Yes, that's a huge range, but they're very inconsistent with power depending on how hot they are and what the ECU feels like putting down. With just longtubes, 490 to the wheels. With CAI, chip and long tubes they're predicting 500+.

The new Z06 has done already over 500 wheel hp with longtubes and ECU tuning. Weighing in at 3130lbs.. thats quite a rocket for a facotory car with just upgraded exhaust and ECU.

I wonder what the new Viper competition coupe will be like ....

Nice vipers!

i love the new corvettes as well, but corvettes are a dime a dozen on the road. you can drive around every day and expect to see at least 5-10 corvettes just commuting. the viper is a rare car, and i think its that way because it was designed as a driver's car with performance in mind, over comfort. obviously the z06 is a different story, but you dont see any "base" vipers. all vipers kick ass. corvettes do too. back on topic people!

I really dont want to get into the vette vs viper debate but I just want to point out the reason you probably see so many vettes as opposed to vipers on the road is price difference. You could get a brand new base c5 for 40k vipers are almost double that. That is probably the reason you see so many of them on the road. Both cars are nice and I'd take either one in a heart beat. Lets end this stupid debate, this thread is for him to show his toys not to argue vette vs viper. NIce Vipers again man. very beautiful cars.

Originally yes. But as with any Make and Model, Vipers too have their share of whiners and bitchers and Dodge has reluctantly responded. The evolution (or regression IMO) from a bare bones single purpose car to "comfort and driver assisted" has been slow (thankfully) but gradual (grrr).
