My Dad was a huge fan of Drag racing dating back to Chicago going to US 41 (4 lanes of drag racing @ 1 time) with names of Sox & Martin,Grumpy Bill Jenkins, Shake,Rattle,& Roll......etc
His inate ability,salesmanship,love of drag racing fueled the shop to also cater to the racing community for hi-performance parts as well as taking care of Lokey Motor's needs.
He got Lokey to agree to a sponsorship on a Red 57 Chev called "Lil Profit" which helped brake into the "Sunshine Speedway crowd
As time went on he himself received from Lokey Oldsmobile W30 and would kill the Pure Stock class each & everytime (FYI-he wasn't the driver for lil Profit}
Here's where some of my timelines might get screwy,he had an opportunity w/a gentlemen who previously took Twin City Dragstrip from Don Garlits.
He wasn't much of a promoter but my Dad was,so the partnership began to only end up as my Dad being the one in charge (Charlie Diaz owned the property)
My Dad soon departed Lokey and go to work for Clearwater Datsun, which he not only became top salesman,but a great weather forecaster(due to running the track) as well as a great promoter, He was the 1st to bring "Run What You Brung" ET Brackets (for all of those that remember, Lil Dog/Top Dog & King of the Hill)
He eventually left Clearwater Datsun & partner up w/Allen Kent aka Allen's Alley & established a speed shop called "Honest Charlie's" (midwest chain of speed shops)

I could go on......etc

but to finally introduce myself, my name is Fred Scadron, I was the one to set up the equipment and write & hand-out the ET slips at the booth at the Far End (return road)
My mother collected the money at the entrance gate (Barbara)
My Grandmother ran the concession stand (Helen) when her husband passed away the Chev Station Wagon was given to race Lil Dog Et Brackets (20+ second ET's) and many of times win King of the Hill (racing the winner of Top Dog and sometimes having up to 10 secound handicap.
There was a gap of me not being there (Army 1973-1975),in that time period my father got seperated,eventually divorced,then remarried & acquired an instant family (wife & 2 step sons) and bored another son with that same wife (which will help understand some of the confusion why others are calling Bob Scadron aka Dad)

I'm been a motorhead obviously for a long time, have a 86 Grand National (10 second on pump gas) & heavily into the motorcycle community (08 Victory Vision)
