now im starting to get impatient with my car, i wanna sell it but nody wants this thing. im just about ready to drive it over to carmax and hand them the keys and they just give me a check. my question is do they give you fairly what your car is worth or do they do what dealers do with trade ins and give you like 1/4 of what its worth

 

I had a 95 Rs Eclipse, good condition except for a ding or two, and the interior was imaculate....Had 116,000 miles on it and they gave me 1500 dollars for it....We had to take it because we wanted to get rid of the car soo badly...

 

my old lumina had 100k miles on it and it was PERFECT completely perfect not a thing wrong..i babied that car..and they only wanted to give me 900 for it..i told them to lick my sack and left

 

im prolly gonna go get it appraised but if they offer me some shit like 1500 ill stick an ear of corn up their ass and leave

 

They give right where KBB Trade-In values it at.

 

my kbb was more than 1k..it was 2300 or some shit for dealer trade in..but i traded it in for 1900 on this car..so o well

 

yeah, carmax does dick you over on the value of your car...but hey, if you need it gone...its easy

 

You can appraise it yourself just use the trade-in price not private party; that's a big difference in numbers.

 

If its a newer car (01 up) with low (<30k) on the clock they will give you a better price becuase they can sell it on the lot. Other wise most of the cars you guys tired to trade it will go to whole sale. They also don't like cars that have been modded. anything modded too much goes to wholesale. Carmax wont put a modded car on its lot.

dflat you have a 91 model, I doubt they will offer you more than 1k. To car max that car has no value.

 

How could they make money if they gave you a fair price?
