they are 2 completely different sites.. they are 2 vbulletin 3.06 installs .. all we did was some custom hacking to allow the user database to be the same.. all we did was provided a link back between them because alot of peopel use both.

i think what is a bit confusing is that TF looks so similar to TR, alot of peopel think they are still on TR .

Charles.. i think that about the forsale stuff too.. its something we are considering..

as for the single button deal..i am thinking for of a small header across the top .. very thin.. with a text link to TF and TR .. showing we run both sites.. and if we add more in the future put them up there too.. kinda like on the top of slashdot.org

i also agree on separate profiles .. but its harder then you think to do .. we'd definately like to keep the userbase synched so you only have to register on one site to register on the other.. that was done mainly to give Tf a "ready to go" userbase.

It all looks really nice to me, looks like it definitely took a lot of work...it'd be nice to have more than FreeForAll as the main forum on TF, but I dunno what else that would be so that probrably doesn't help.....also it may just be me, but it seems as though there is less activity on both TF and TR..but again that's probrably wrong

 

TF has more than the Free-4-All forum.. has some specific interest ones and at lease 2-3 new ones wil be added.

as for traffic.. TR is still doing about 5-7000 unique users a day .. and Tf about half that right now .. the beauty is both increased.. not decreased so on top of everything else the split actually created about 50% more traffic accross them both... i figured TR would decrease in traffic.. but it didnt.. so the 2-4000 uniques on TF is NEW traffic.

 

well that's a beautiful thing then...I figured it was just my imagination thinking there was less traffic, but you never know I guess...

and as far as FFA being the main board, I guess I meant it looked odd having it being the only thing under the "general" heading...but once again i have no idea what else you'd put under the "general" heading so my bringing it up is kind of pointless in the end.....

You guys said you were working on a new color scheme for TF to make it look different from TR, didn't you?

 

okay well heres my views on it... I think its kinda ridiculous making an Entire different site for the FFA... having to open up an entire new page to view the FFA is annoying.


I used to go to FFA quite frequently but after the change I might have been there once or twice.. as well as I think TampaForums is a bit empty and the rest of the topics are sort of bland.

 

I like the new TR. I like the project cars forum but I also think that you should have a Callout forum too. I think that the Callout Forum would go over really well.
