IMO I dont like the 2 seperate sites AT ALL...


everything else is great though.. I love how you have the for sale section seperated... looking for a GM part in the domestic car parts for sale was next to impossible shoveling through all the mustang parts.


IMO TampaForums is kinda ridiculous having 2 sites..

I think it's a surprisingly good idea. I doubted separating FFA to another address but leaving the link here would make much of a difference, but it seems to have some sort of psychological effect on people browsing. I've found that I don't visit FFA nearly as much as when it was just another forum to open up with one click, and tamparacing seems to have seen a dropoff in worthless posts by people wandering out of FFA. It also gives room to add a lot of social/myspace-style features and new off-topic forums, and it attracts people who were put off by the tamparacing name- "Why would I go to a racing website to BS with people?" I've gotten that from more people than I would expect, linking them to the TR FFA. I think it lets them grow the free for all into a tampa area social site, which a lot of people were using it for anyway, while at the same time cleaning up some of the BS that was leaking into the car tech forums here on tr.


*edit* I agree with the separate profiles deal, though. TR and TF should have completely separate profiles, if they don't already... I'm going on the info Frank gave because I don't change my stuff often enough to notice.

 

I would love to see TR/TF split off the 4-sale section into it's own entity, and have it set up like http://www.thepartstrader.com/

All the 'TTT' and lo baller comments are not needed.

oh...and I agree, it would be nice to have a simple button at the top that let's us switch from TR to TF Forums listing.... Having to scroll up and down to find the link sucks.

personally i think they should be completely separated. you should have to type www.tamparacing.com to go there and www.tampaforums.com to go to the other.

they way it is now, its like one big confusing website, make them two different sites.
