I might be able to help with that , well minus any high end cars that they never let anyone drive. Get a few different people to take it for a spin.

 

The specific for sale forums are great. I hated posting something and then have it buried under 1000 honda f/s posts.

 

I think the journal could be accomplished with vbGarage ..its kinda like a profile for your car .. with pics.. and an area to write stuff.. if you just wanted to lists the mods etc you could.. or if you wanted to keep a journal of the build up you could.. i think i will add this and see what people think. heres some examples of vbGarage

Graves send me a PM on the test drive stuff with what your thinking.. i'd be looking for regular people to test drive stuff and write an article.. once a month on a car.. any car.. doesnt have to be performance.. could also include links to the dealership they dealt with and perhaps the sales persons name.number ..

I'd also look for people who attend events regularly to do a small write up for TR .. we could have an events coverage forum. whether it was a small get together.. a car show.. a drift event.. runday sunday or a TR event..

I think the projects/garage area would be nice. Kinda like cardomain but more organized. Obviously storage and bandwidth would be an issue, but maybe offer it as a service to paying members.

vBGarage, car of the month sounds AWESOME. I think articles should be mandatory GCC stuff anyways.

One thing I dont like about the switch is that I cant cross-subscribe to threads on F4A so I never know if someone replied or not

 

I dont like the new for sale sections. Makes everything too cluttered, and I dont like how in a smaller tech forum, it shows new post, but there arent any, only FS posts.

I think a timeslip feature would be great. For a model look at the feature on www.dsmtuners.com (although the forum is broken right now, now that I look at it ).

It has a dedicated section where you can browse timeslips with fields for time @ mph, type of car, a short mods list, etc. It links to your personal car profile which has fields for mods, pictures, etc, cardomain stuff. The times are links to pictures of the timeslips, a timeslip isn't considered valid unless you have a picture of it linked and you can report phonies. The best part is that the times are listed under everybody's names in a field like the Car: field or Location: field as a link to the picture of the timeslip. It shows a blank time unless you have a picture loaded.
