Default Import VS Domestic?

I'd like to try something and I hope to see everyone contribute

If your a domestic guy by heart, what impresses you about Imports?

If your a import guy by heart, what impresses you about Domestics?

I'll start. I am impressed by how much performance can be had in a new corvette for only ~50K. Many imports can spend much more then that and not come close to the performance of a stock Vette.

+1 on the vette.

gm's involvement in American Le Mans has done wonders for the development of the c5 and c6. NASCAR may be king right now, but ALMS is where race technology makes it's way to the street.

Honestly if its fast I like it. I used to be a die hard import guy but trying to keep up with the domestics got expensive and aggrevating. And like the old saying goes "If you can't beat them join them". So I did. My only regret is that I didnt switch over sooner. There are definately things to be impressed by from both sides. Good luck in this not turning into another flame fest. I like the idea/concept of this thread but most of tr is to stupid to keep it civil.

I guess I would be considered an "import" guy with DSM's. Domestics still own in overall bang-for-the-buck.

the suspension in imports is generally better, they used to have higher revving engines, but the big 3 are finally waking up, now if ford would only bring the falcon XR6 over from Australia...heh, a domestic import

imports for the reliability and the shock factor of seeing insane amounts of power coming from small ass motors.

Domestics for the power, and the recognition of the great names of some serious classic heritage cars, such as the GTO, the camaro, 442, charger, etc etc etc.

im a domestic guy mainly, but i dont spit at imports...unless its retardedly riced out.
