Oho yeah, how long would you think it would take to have him put it in considering the time w/ converting the wiring harness and hooking things up. I use my car every day and i dont want to have to have it in the shop for like a week. So for those of you who have had them install your engines how long did it take?

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fucking temperamental.

hmotorsonline: 4100 for a B18CR
Install/wiring at average of prices ive seen: 600
Hoses, fittings, random pieces: 100
Skunk2 Chip: 50

$4850

7k seems to be a bit much. are you paying his rent for 3-4 months?

Beat me to it. Colin does kick ass work and has the right to charge people for his time and experience, but 7K, holy shiyat. My shop does this type of work and some for way less with the same turnaround times.

hmmmmm... your prices are a bit off there.... Yes, the motor is 4100 from HMotors, but I dont believe HMotors is the distributor he uses, so his price may be a little different... So on that note let me say this... First, install alone WITHOUT wiring is about 600-750,and wiring like this can range from $100 to $300 depending on what has to be done... Now I can already tell you , everything has to be converted to use this obd2 motor in an obd1 car, so basically a whole new harness will have to be fabricated.. If you dont know, thats a LOT of time and hard work, so its not gonna be cheap...

also, that swap has no intermediate shaft or axles, so theres another 300-400, and oh, lets not forget the rear tranny mount bracket thats not included that will be another 120 or so...

all the misc hoses, belts, brackets, fittings, etc about 150-200

ecu (p28 ) runs anywhere from 100-150, PLUS another 75-100 to have it rechipped and programmed...

now I wont even guesstimate how long a job like this will take Collin, but I will say the going rate for performance work labor, is a minimum of 80 dollars an hour...

I will personally guarantee that this will be money well spent... The car will run great, and it will look like it came with that motor in it from the factory... Collin is very thorough with his work, and does everything 110%, and it does not leave his shop until he is satisfied... I will vouch for him any day of the week, and I will also say with as picky as I am, I have always trusted him with my car.... Rest assured your car is in good hands with Collin, and you will get your moneys worth... Just remember, you get what you pay for

Also, you'd need an OBD1 ecu. Maybe he charges a little too much but maybe he includes timing belt, waterpump, a tune-up and maybe tuning? I don't know, price might sound a little high at first, but you don't know for sure what the price includes nor what year motor he's going to install. I'm just saying, you should know what's included before you knock on his price. Even if his price is a little high, you're paying a little more for work that is "not average".
