Default Braking

So, which is it?Engine braking may wear out the clutch a little bit sooner (more use) and use up a little more gas, but getting rid of the pain of worn brake pads and brake dust is worth it, IMO.

Everybody else?

The way I see it, by the time you would have to replace the clutch you would have gone through many more sets of brake pads. In effect, saving money by replacing the clutch.

brakes are a hell of alot easier to do then a clutch. i dont feel like taking a tranny down for a clutch. fuck that shit. brakes on the other hand only take about 30 minutes.

Brakes are cheaper than a tranny. Brakes were made to stop the car, the engine was made go make it go.

First off, engine braking saves gas because it's not injecting fuel when you're off the throttle decelerating. Second, the brakes are there to stop the car and they're a lot easier to replace, so use them unless you need additional braking or you're driving aggresively. Then use engine braking as well.
